What is Community Watch?
Neighborhood watches are just that: Neighbors watching out for themselves and each other to make their neighborhood a safe place to live. Community Watches all across the country let neighbors get to know each other better and help to reduce the chance of criminal activity in their neighborhoods and communities.
A local law enforcement officer helps train Community Watch participants in personal safety and security for their homes, as well as ways to join together and use their time and talents to tackle problems needing resolution by working together. Neighborhood Watches cost only the time it takes for neighbors to care about neighbors. Neighborhood Watches discover ways to improve the quality of life in their communities.
Why Community Watch Works
Most law enforcement agencies are limited with staffing. Your cooperation as a resident will greatly help to overcome this shortage. By the watchful eyes and ears of the citizens observing suspicious activities within their own neighborhoods.
Citizens provide the benefit of having someone watching their neighborhood at all times. This lets criminals know they are being observed.
