Civil Division Overview

The Vance County Sheriff's Office Civil Division is responsible for all civil processes that are issued to the Sheriff of Vance County. The following are examples of some of the everyday processes that we serve.

  • Magistrate Summons
    County Seal
  • Civil Summons
  • Summary Ejectments
  • Writ of Possession (Real and Personal Property)
  • Order for Claim and Delivery
  • Notice of Rights
  • Writ of Execution (Enforcement of Money Judgments)
  • Tax Warrants


From time to time the Civil Division will conduct sales of personal or real property that is directly linked to a Tax Warrant or Writ of Execution. The Civil Division also assists with the duties of the Court Division and the Administrative Services Division when needed. If the Civil Division can be of any assistance please call us at (252) 738-2200 and your call will be forwarded to the appropriate Deputy.

The Civil Division is comprised of one (1) Sergeant, two (2) Civil Process Deputies and one (1) Administrative Support Specialist.
